Since Fall 2024, God has routinely
directed our attention to eastern Europe. He has connected us with numerous
people serving Him throughout the region, and for several months, we wondered
if we should make a trip to see how God is at work. We also wanted to do
evangelism and discipleship, as we have in eastern Africa over the past years.
We spent several months praying about what God wanted us to do and felt
prompted to join a medical team in Suceava, Romania. The team will meet medical
needs and have opportunities to share the love of Jesus with people who come to
medical clinics.
Note: The fundraiser goal is $4,460 because we purchased our own plane tickets.
The birthplace of an old
civilization, Suceava is in the northeastern part of Romania in an area known
as Bucovina. This area has a strong cultural and social influence from
Transylvania and is situated in the Carpathian Mountains.
Even though Romania is an
Orthodox country, the evangelical presence and influence is powerful. There are
two Baptist churches in Suceava that are working together to fulfill The Great
Commission. Brother Dan Boingeanu, pastor of Maranata Baptist Church in
Suceava, has already done a tremendous evangelistic/discipleship work in this
area and has a wonderful mission ministry in place. God helped them set up
numerous mission points not only in the country but very successfully in the
Diaspora. His vision matches e3’s vision, and a partnership has existed since
2000. God has worked through the partnership to achieve streams of churches
that have planted additional churches, even to seven generations! Pastor
Boingeanu is our e3 Romania National Strategy Director. Under his leadership
many young people have been discipled and successfully sent into the ministry.
He is married, and has 4 adult children, all very much involved in the
ministry. It is a blessing and an honor to serve alongside Pastor Boingeanu.
