Anyone who knows our family knows how much we love the children of Ethiopia! Three years ago, our church launched a child development program called Spring of Hope in the rural town of Ambo. And by sponsoring children at Spring of Hope, OUR FAMILY HAS DOUBLED IN SIZE! These children have truly become part of our family.
That’s why we were so disappointed when our family’s trip to Spring of Hope in October was cancelled. Civil unrest throughout Ethiopia prevented any foreign travel. This was a big disappointment AND a financial hit to our family. Canceling our flights caused us to lose $355 a piece – adding $2,130.00 to an already huge financial commitment for our family. But most importantly, we worried for our children in Ambo. Unable to encourage them in person, we surrounded them with our prayers from afar.
Political tensions have subsided and our partners in Ethiopia have confirmed it’s now safe again to travel throughout the country. So our family of six (yes, including 9-yr-old Ana!) will be joining a team of passionate sponsors to Spring of Hope on February 11-21, 2017.
We can’t wait to see our sponsored children! While some of our family has met them on past trips, this will be the first time we can be with them together as a whole family.
This Christmas, we’re looking forward to the best present of all: being with our extended family in Ambo! If you'd like to help us get there, we would deeply appreciate a donation to our trip!! As we mentioned earlier, we suffered a big financial loss with the trip’s cancellation in October. So your gift NOW will be a HUGE encouragement and help to us!
You can click the button below to make a tax-deductible donation. THANK YOU! Your love and support will make this trip all the sweeter.
