None of us were prepared to say our final "see you later" to Daniel when he went to be with Jesus forever on May 13, 2023.
Daniel McCoy modeled the words of the Psalmist where he says, "Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs." (Psalm 100:2) Daniel loved Jesus with all his heart, and shared that love and joy of Jesus with the world. His life was full of music and praise to Jesus, laughter, terrible Dad jokes, kindness, humility, and so much more. Now, he has gained the greatest gift of all: to be reunited completely and wholly with Jesus for eternity, without pain or sorrow.
"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21)
While we deeply mourn his sudden and unexpected passing from this life and grieve that he is no longer with us physically, we rest in the promises of God that we will see him once again when we ourselves gain the gift of eternity with Jesus as well. In the meantime, we continue to see and seek God's comfort as we mourn. We know God feels our pain more deeply than we can comprehend, and we know that he promises to be with us through it all.
"Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)
In lieu of flowers, Daniel's family has requested donations be made to support the orphaned and vulnerable children and their families within Bless the Children Ministries (BTCM), the ministry held so dear to his and his wife's hearts.
Thank you Lord for the gift of having Daniel in our lives.
