International Women's Day (IWD) has been around for over 100 years, as have many of the barriers that are still impacting women today. At Mercy House Global, we believe in the empowerment and advancement of women, it is at the core of who we are.
When a woman has the education, skills, and resources she needs, she is able to uplift her home, her children, and her community.
This year, in International Women's Day, we are raising funds specifically for our educational programs for women in Kenya and the USA. When you give to this fundraiser, you are helping to provide:
In-home, grade level education and tutoring for newly rescued teen mothers (Kenya)
School fees for mothers in their second year of the program to return to school, as well as school fees for graduates of the program to continue their education (Kenya)
College and University fees for graduates who choose to attend higher level education (Kenya)
Vocation and skills training fees for both residents and graduates, including training fees for cosmetology, catering, tailoring, etc. (Kenya)
Cost for all transportation, food, uniform, school fees, etc. (Kenya)
- Bi-weekly ESOL (English as a second other language) classes to refugees and their children in our community, free of charge (USA)
- Monthly Empowerment Lunches for vulnerable women (refugees and trafficking survivors) where women are taught valuable skills and life-lessons and are given the opportunity for community (USA)
- Artisan and professional skills training for women in the program who qualify (USA)
- Scholarships/ Grants to enroll in higher education or attend online or in person training, classes, etc. (USA)
Thank you for linking arms with us to support vulnerable women through the power of education!
