Watch Brian's 3 Minute Video of how and why to support Jacob and Maureen HERE.
Jacob and Maureen Ogodo are quiet pillars of faith in Mathare—one of the largest and most underserved urban communities in Kenya.
Since 2015, they have faithfully led Oasis of Hope and the Clark Educational Center, creating safe, dignified places where children can learn, eat, grow, and thrive. Their work is not flashy. It’s faithful. And it’s changing lives.
Jacob was raised as a street child in Mathare. Today, he returns daily to fight for children walking the same roads he once walked. Together, Jacob and Maureen give 60+ hours each week to shepherding people, not programs—leading staff, mentoring young leaders like Prince and Abraham, counseling families, discipling volunteers, and modeling a faith that is lived, not spoken.
They currently provide leadership to 16 staff members, alongside many volunteers, and their influence reaches hundreds of families each week—spiritually, emotionally, and practically.
“Let us not grow weary in doing good.” — Galatians 6:9
Why This Matters
You and I cannot be physically present every day in Mathare.
Jacob and Maureen can.
They don’t just show up—they multiply.
Through a healthy, Christ-centered marriage, they model hope to teenagers, young adults, teachers, and volunteers. That health ripples outward—into classrooms, homes, small businesses, and churches—creating pathways out of poverty that last.
The Ask
Jacob and Maureen’s combined monthly salary is $450.
That’s it.
This support allows them to serve full-time, without distraction—leading teams, teaching families, strengthening volunteers, and building long-term systems of dignity and faith.
We are inviting a small circle of monthly partners (or one-time givers) to help cover this cost.
The time-over-money value here is extraordinary. A modest monthly gift fuels thousands of hours of leadership and impact over the course of a year.
