I
recently made the decision to travel to Uganda to participate in a trip sponsored
by the organization “Love Does.” I have
followed and financially supported Love Does for a number of years as they
invest in Uganda through a school, safe houses, and child sponsorship to name a
few. I’m so excited to see the impact
they are making first hand. They are
investing in children by giving them access to an education at the Restore Leadership
Academy in northern Uganda. They continue
that investment after they graduate in the Launch Program which helps young
adults start their lives. They even have
safe houses for girls and women who have been victims of sexual abuse and
exploitation.
On July 19th, I’ll be leaving behind Josh and
the kids to fly to Uganda to begin my 9 day adventure. I can’t wait to see what God has
prepared. We will travel to five
different cities to assist with current projects and meet the people who Love
Does has the opportunity to serve. I’m
so excited to meet the sweet kids whose pictures I’ve been looking at for
months. As many of you know, Josh and I
have been contemplating international adoption and for some reason, God
continues to put Uganda on our hearts. I
believe that this trip is the first step in learning about the culture of the children
who will hopefully become part of my own family one day.
First, I ask for your prayers. As excited as I am, I know nothing will
prepare me to see the poverty and devastation I will witness in Uganda. As a mom, there is nothing I wouldn’t do to
provide for my children. As I leave my
comfortable American experience, I know Ugandan moms feel the same way about their
kids. However, so many don’t have access
to resources I do. It won’t be an easy
thing to witness. Please pray that God
will provide the strength and courage I will need. Pray that I will be able to show the love,
compassion, and grace my God shows me every day. I ask that you pray for my group, that we
will be able to do the work that needs to get done. And pray for Uganda, that they will have a
bright future for all their people.
I also pray for your support financially. The trip costs $4,100 and I am asking for
your help. I would ask that you would give
however you are led to this adventure of mine.
You can follow me on social media and I can’t wait to share my
experiences and pictures with you. If
you want to learn more about Love Does and the work they are doing in Uganda,

Thank you so much for your prayers and support and I look
forward to sharing my Ugandan experience with you.
