The Gateway to the Amazon

Locted in northern Peru along the Amazon river basin, Yurimaguas is a thriving port city of 64,000 residents. Strategically situated between the Huallaga and Paranapura rivers, it is a critical trade center for hardwoods and petroleum. Yurimaguas is also one of the last urban centers accessible by paved roads when driving north. Beyond its beauty and culture, Yurimaguas is a strategic entry point into the region. The people past Yurimaguas have very limited health care, which is where we come in. We are taking a team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and students to provide a free health clinic for these people all while telling them about Jesus. In giving these people the healthcare they need, we serve to help heal their body while showing them that Christ heals the heart. John 13: 34-35 says, "...As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know you are my disciples, if you love one another." What better way to bring someone to Christ than by showing them his love through physical healing.

In order for my first medical mission trip to happen, I'm going to need help financially and in prayer. The cost of the trip is $2,800, which includes the cost of medications, eyeglasses, and other supplies that we will be bringing to the people of Yurimaguas.
