Family & friends:
I am writing to share with you an incredible opportunity the Lord has graciously blessed me with. 99 Balloons Inc. is an organization in Fayetteville, AR that helps people engage children both locally and globally with special needs. 99 Balloons is taking a team of around 10 people to Jinja, Uganda, Africa from January 8th, 2016-January 17th, 2016 and I feel that the Lord is very clear in his call for me to go be apart of the team.
During our trip, we will will be supporting 99 Balloons' Global Partners in Uganda where we will work in a children's home with over 20 orphans experiencing disability as well as a community care program that supports over 50 families experiencing disabilities.
We will see firsthand the story of disability in Uganda, provide care and assistance for children with disabilities, organize a day camp for the kids, and assist local staff with various needs.
I will also be assisting with something that I have a deep passion for, photography. Jesus has given me this wonderful passion and he has made his plan for me to pursue it crystal clear!! In Jinja, I will be photographing the kids and their families to tell their stories that might otherwise go untold. If you know me and my love for photography, you could probably guess that I am very excited to take these portraits and tell these sweet stories. I'm also looking forward to sharing these photos and stories that I get to tell with my camera with you all and can't wait to love on those kids!
This trip is exciting and challenging, as I have no real experience with disabilities. I am looking forward to see what God will teach me about disabilities and how to help those affected. Also, this trip will happen to be my first time to travel outside of the country. Ever since high school International Relations class (thanks Mrs. Moll!!!), Africa has been a place that I've strongly desired to visit and experience!
The bottom line is: everyone's story matters and these kids and their families need someone to photographically tell their stories so that they will not go unheard. I am honored and humbled by this opportunity to get to do something that I love and still don't fully believe that this opportunity is tangible (this is seriously such a blessing)!!
I would really appreciate your commitment to prayer and any financial contribution that you may offer to make this trip possible. To attend this trip with 99 Balloons' in January, I must raise a total of $2835. Any donations, big or small are greatly appreciated and are tax-deductible. Thank you to all of you who read this and are praying or donating. I am so thankful and humbled at this opportunity and that you are helping make this dream a reality.
