Myanmar is a predominantly Buddhist country with very few Christians. In June, e3 Partners took a team to church plant in the capitol and in just one week, 14 house churches were started and 95% of the new followers of Jesus were trained to share their faith! We have learned that many of them did share and the house churches are growing. Our team’s goal is the same: share our stories, share God’s story from Creation to Christ, disciple seekers and new followers, and gather them into house churches. Many of the people we will encounter have NEVER heard the name of Jesus. Each team member will have a translator as well as a church member from a partner church who we will train to share their story, God’s story and disciple a new follower of Jesus and together we will repeat the process with the new followers of Jesus. These local partners continue following up with these established house churches, training them to go to the next community to repeat the process until all of Myanmar has heard how to know Jesus.
I can only do so much as one person, which is why I need your support. The biggest thing that would support me and my team is keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. I firmly believe that prayer is a force that binds us believers together and makes our requests and pleas known to our Father. Some prayer requests I have:
- Uncertainty: This is my first overseas missions trip, and I am quite anxious to see how I can adapt and share the gospel with a culture I’m not even remotely familiar with.
- Safety: Not only for safe travels, also for protection from anything that would hinder us from sharing the story of Jesus with everyone.
- The Mission: As followers of Christ, we are examples of God’s love in works and words. Pray that we can steward that love well to the people of Myanmar.
Thank you for reading and prayerfully considering being a part of my sending team. I look forward to seeing how God provides as I take this bold step of faith. Your prayers and financial support will be a blessing to me and those who have the opportunity to hear the Gospel because of your partnership.
