The city serves as continental Europe’s largest financial center. It has been ranked the world’s tenth most global city and the eighth largest financial district. Its airport boasts more passenger traffic than any other. People from nearly every continent pass through its terminals each day.
Representatives from several unengaged people groups have found refuge here, including those from countries that are closed to the Gospel. This provides an open door to spread the story of Jesus among cultures who are otherwise walled off from the world.
One such demographic is the Alawite people. They descend from a sect of Shia Islam and reside mostly in Syria and Lebanon. The people live under constant threat by Sunnis who view them as heretics and threaten complete annihilation. Despite this, the people have demonstrated great social mobility throughout their history. In Syria, President Bashar al Assad hails from an Alawite background. As his ruthless regime slowly crumbles from years of civil war, many Alawites have fled to neighboring countries to escape the violence.
Roughly 500,000 have sought refuge in Turkey and very little is being done to reach their closed culture. Many Alawites are now arriving in Frankfurt, disillusioned by the emptiness they have experienced in their religion.
This expedition is your chance to reach Alawites and the dozens of other people groups currently residing in Germany. We will engage with immigrants from across North Africa, Asia, and the Middle East on the streets of Frankfurt.
In just one week, you can spread the Gospel among unengaged people groups, establish new churches, and launch a Gospel movement that outlives your time on this Earth.
Are you ready for the adventure to begin?
