It was such a privilege and strengthening of my faith to
have joined them in 2021 on our trip to Honduras. To say that was a life
changing trip is an understatement. I went in confident about all that we had
practiced in our training, and knew that the Lord would make up for my lack.
What I hadn’t expected was to be asked to lead. I was looking for rest and as
many of you know, when you are leading there isn’t always rest. Well, God is
bigger than that thought. So, I obeyed my leadership and what God was asking of
me…turns out I really didn’t have to lead anything. I just had to show up and
be a vessel of the Lord. In that, I made beautiful friendships, played with the
cutest kids, and most importantly shared the Gospel with so many people who believed
they had to earn their way into Heaven.
This is why I am so excited to join e3 to Columbia! As Jesus
said in Matthew 28:19-20, “19 Go therefore and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son
and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to
observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you
always, to the end of the age.” Again, I want to obey and honor
this command. I am beginning my training with my trip mates and looking forward
to the ways God will work not only during this trip, but the moments leading up
and the years to follow. Please, join me in praying over this trip: the
training sessions with the team, the details to make this mission happen, our
leadership, and the people in Columbia that we will encounter. I have no doubt
that God will not only move in the lives of the people in Columbia, but I trust
that He will do a work in all of us as stories like this are shared to encourage
our faith.
