LLU School of Nursing Botswana SUMMER 2022
Dear Friends and Family,
I know I have been scarce over the past four years; I have been busy pursuing a new career. A career in the field of nursing. As you know, for years I have spent my life helping people grow their businesses. I have switched gears and am now choosing to help individuals and families during some of the most vulnerable times of their lives. Helping them to heal or to find peace during a time where they feel the most out of control. To find a level of comfort in a time of chaos. What better way to finish my time on this earth than to be helping others as I have been helped during mine.
Each summer, students from LLU's School of Nursing travel to Botswana as part of their Public Health Nursing (PHN) course. The PHN course focuses on the optimal wellness of the client community in partnership with local nursing staff serving the community often in Primary Health Centers in the villages. For me it will mean so much more. We will be volunteering in these communities from June 15th to July 11th.
I will be busy, my days will start early and will end late, but I will be filled with memories of all of those whose lives I have touched and who have touched mine. Most recently I had the privilege of spending a week in the Amazon, caring for others, I cannot express how that experience has touched my life and made me a better person. It has made me more grateful for every day I get to watch another sunset and hug my family in my wonderful world. If it changed me this much in just a week, I can't imagine how this month-long journey I am about to embark on is going to impact my life.
Nursing students who have participated in this international experience have found it life-changing, eye-opening, and an inspiration for themselves and people with whom they have shaped their experience. You can be a part of my life-changing experience by supporting these efforts with a small donation. All of the funds go directly to this mission, any processing fees charged are not deducted from your donation, they are reimbursed, so you can be assured that every cent you donate goes directly to the cause. The cause of helping others. I hope you will join me on this journey with even the smallest donation, every $1.00 counts, no donation is too small and EVERY donation has the same value to me because it comes from the heart.
With Gratitude,
Karen
