One of the biggest reasons I chose to attend Loma Linda University for their occupational therapy program was because of the emphasis they put on service and community outreach. I want to be a part of a community that is not only committed to teaching healing, humility, and compassion, but also actively practicing and encouraging the same from their students.
During undergrad I had eagerly wanted to join a mission but could never seem to find the right time. And as excited as I am now, the decision to join was still difficult! I found that there isn't really a "perfect time" but that you have to jump in and let your faith in God support your choices.
I have been blessed with this opportunity to influence the lives of others through a mission trip to Manaus, Brazil! Along the way we will be aiding local Brazilians and villagers by putting on health fairs and teaching wellness education. They will see Jesus through our VBS services and worship sessions. I hope to make my trip uplifting to those I meet and take those experiences back with me to my own community and career.
I am looking forward to this life-changing experience and I would greatly appreciate your help and donation! Your support pushes me closer to my dream in allowing me be a service to others. Thank you so much for reading and being a part of my journey. Wishing everyone a happy Monday and a very merry Christmas! :)
