The concept of stewardship is about how you use the gifts, talents, opportunities, and passions God has given you. It’s not just being thankful for what he provides. It’s about leveraging them for his glory, to advance his Kingdom, promote justice, and spread his Gospel. If you’re rich, God didn’t just bless you with money so you can enjoy it. With that money, you have an opportunity to financially support others who are serving around the world. If you’re educated, how are you using your college or graduate degrees to enrich the lives of others and promote justice? If you’re talented or well-skilled, how are you using those skills and talents to help others get ahead and move forward in their lives? If you’re well-connected, how are you leveraging those relationships to further God’s calling on your life? When you begin to see yourself as a steward of the gifts God has given you, it turns everything upside down.
God has created a special place in my heart for Africa. I’m willing to go or stay wherever He asks me to – for now, the calling is to continue serving in Malawi. Our team will join together with national missionaries to share the gospel through veterinarian care, medical clinics, Moringa tree training, orphan care, and evangelism in Mponela and Chikwawa, Malawi.
Home to many tobacco
farmers, Mponela is primarily an agricultural
town. It is
deeply rooted in the traditional and demonic practice of Nyawu, a secret
society of the Chewa people. Chikwawa
is a picturesque district that lies along Malawi’s biggest river, Shire. Due to
an extremely hot climate and long rainy season, malaria is an epidemic.
Alcoholism, polygamy, and child marriages are widespread and common. About 4 out of ten pre-teen/teenage girls are forced into
prostitution in these areas. It is often thought of as a horrible place to
raise a daughter.
At the end of the day, your position in the world is an asset that can draw others to Christ. The ultimate question is, how will you use it? Please prayerfully consider joining my support team and helping me serve the people of Chikwawa and Mponela Malawi. If you feel led to help out financially, my goal is to raise $4900 before June. I am doing 2 trips back to back to make the most of my time in Malawi. The funding bar is only able to reflect the cost of one trip ($3900), but it is easier to keep track of funds in one place.
In addition, I want to ask if you will commit to pray for me - that I will be spiritually prepared, obedient, and willing to be used however the Lord sees fit. Please pray that He will go before us, give us strength, rest, and protection, and that the gospel will reach the hearts of those who hear.
Zikomo kwambiri (Thank you),
