Dear friends,
In less than 2 months I will be journeying to Thailand from October 13-October 25th with e3 partners to spread the good news of Christ amongst those who need it the most. I will be going to a Northern city called Chiang Mai, and will be specifically engaging with communities that have been affected by human trafficking.
In the past 4 years, God has grown my knowledge and heart for those who have been victimized by this atrocious evil. Last year when I ran for Team World Vision for child protection rights, I could not help but weep for the children who have been trafficked. It was not enough for me to just say that we should care about human trafficking, but I have been challenged to let my heart break for this injustice because it breaks God’s heart.
I was recently reading Habakkuk and was in awe of how much his words rang true as I read them,
"How long, Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?
Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.
Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.
The Lord’s Answer
Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told.” [Habakkuk 1:2-5]
I have always loved verse 5 because it has reminded me that God is working in this world amidst the war, turmoil, corruption and violence; however, I never realized how much it pained Habakkuk to be in a place where he detested injustice.
Would you join in partnering with me as I go to Thailand to advocate and share the love of Christ with those who have not heard about Him and desperately need His love and hope?
