Dear friend,

I hope this email finds you well. Today, I am writing to share an exciting new project with you and to humbly ask for your continued support. We need your help to build a permanent building for our foster home in Kenya.

As you know, our mission at Children with Disabilities Fund International has always been to provide a safe and nurturing environment for abandoned and vulnerable children with disabilities around the world. Thanks to your generous contributions, we have been able to make a significant impact on many lives over the last 14 years!

Over the past several years in Kenya, and in order to more significantly benefit the children we serve there, we have been able to:

• Purchase land to serve as a permanent home for CDFI operations in Kenya

• Drill a well and install a water storage tank on the property, which also serves local community members and school children

• Build a temporary building structure to house the foster children in our care

• Construct a permanent bathhouse on the property which includes four accessible toilets and two accessible showers

Because of you, and with the above activities, we were able to stop renting our previous foster home building, as well as move out of an additional rented space used for our administrative offices. In these ways and more, we always seek to be excellent stewards of the funds entrusted to us.

Currently, our foster home operates out of a temporary building structure on our property that, while functional, is small and crowded. It was always intended to be temporary. Now, after much planning and prayerful consideration, we are thrilled to begin raising funds for the construction of a permanent building that will serve as both the foster home and the administrative offices for our programs in Kenya. Our program offices include rooms for providing essential counseling and support to the families we serve - this is a vital aspect in providing physical, emotional and spiritual support to families caring for vulnerable children.

We are especially excited to share that we have already received a generous leading gift of $30,000 from one of our dedicated church partners. This substantial contribution has given us a strong start, but we still need your help to reach our goal!

We are ready to begin construction immediately upon raising the necessary funds. Carefully prepared architectural plans have been prepared and the site is ready. The total cost of the project is $75,000. With the leading donation above received, we now are responsible for raising $45,000.

P.S. CDFI currently has five foster children in our care. These children were abandoned and rescued by local authorities who then called CDFI. We can only presume this will happen from time to time, and our current, temporary building does not have room to accommodate more children.
