Key to Hope - School in Milagrosa Batey, DR

Build a Future..."One of the best ways to reduce poverty is through education." Moises Sifren, Maranatha MinistriesThe Haitian children of the Domi...
The Haitian children of the Dominican Republic face many obstacles, especially when it comes to education. They live in the midst of sugar cane fields with the bleak future of "cutting cane", only to survive in poverty.
There is only one high school that services 50+ bateyes (sugar cane worker villages). Lack of public transportation in the bateyes and the numerous miles of walking it takes to get to and from that one high school forces many children to drop out of school by 5th grade.
Statistics
For this and so many other reasons, we are committed to building a high school in the Milagrosa Batey. By building a high school in this specific batey, it allow children in over 10 other bateyes to have safe access to higher education. Join us in providing them a brighter future!
Our goal is to raise $120,000 by the end of 2022. This will cover the current costs to build the first floor of the school. This school will be built in such a way that subsequent floors may be added as funds are available.
We cannot take on this monumental task alone... If you would like to know more about this project or how you can get involved, please feel free to email us at info@adoortohope.com.
Thank you for helping us make a difference!
