I am so excited to be a part of the KILIMANJARO 2020 Team with Africa New Life Ministries (ANLM). But I’m even more thrilled to be able to support the kiddos of Rwanda by raising funds for their food program. I went to Rwanda in 2015 with IF: GATHERING. I got to see all the amazing work of the Lord and ANLM. A main component of ANLM is building schools and/or running schools already built. School is something that is cherished in Rwanda. School fees can be a huge barrier as well as lack of food/nutrition. Education is a vital investment into children’s future. ANLM students receive one meal while at school. Sometimes this is the only meal these kids get for the entire day.

I personally have learned more about nutrition and food as medicine in the past couple of years. Speaking of learning, the people, reconciliation, culture, history, and country of Rwanda has taught me so much. I absolutely love this country known as “the land of a thousand hills”. Therefore, I am training and fundraising for this Climb up Kilimanjaro. Through this, I have learned more about food and exercise. “Little by little” is a mantra of late.

An average meal in Rwanda costs $0.83, which means $25 provides food for a child for a month (30 meals). Feeding children and families is an extension of the gospel and provides students the stability and consistent nutrition necessary to complete their education.

Please join the Kili 2020 Team and me on this journey of hiking the tallest mountain in Africa (19,341ft) for the kiddos from “the land of a thousand hills”.

Our Kilimanjaro 2020 team will help raise support and awareness for Africa New Life's Food Program! With a team goal of $170,000 they will be able to provide more than 200,000 meals for kids in Rwanda.
