I'd step in to help.

This February, I am climbing
the tallest mountain in Africa (eek!)
because I can step in to help children in Rwanda eat lunch.

My Rwandan story began when I visited our Africa New Life sponsored child, Tierry, in 2018. I thought the adventure to Africa would be the highlight, but I was wrong. As I sat listening to the counselor share Tierry’s story as we bounced down the unpaved, dirt roads through the basic, yet cared for neighborhoods, to meet Tierry, I realized he needed encouragement. Encouragement in the face of fatherly rejection, motherly guidance, and entering the teenage years.

Words don’t justify the unforgettable moments of speaking truth and value into Tierry’s life, meeting his family, and seeing the impact of sponsorship.

I knew I could do more for many others like Tierry.

I prayerfully considered, and I believe I am being called to this great thing outside my comfort zone --- climbing a literal mountain + climbing a figurative fundraising mountain. (gulp!)

So, how do you climb a mountain?
One step at a time.

An average meal in Rwanda costs $.83, which means $25 provides food for a child who attends Africa New Life schools for a month (30 meals).

This isn’t just about feeding kids.

• A meal is stability.
• A meal means a child is seen.
• A meal tells a child you’re worth something,
  not just today, but in the future.
