Dignity through Clean Clothes

This Valentine's Day we want to take extend the gift of dignity to those in our community who may have to decide between putting groceries on their table or gas in the car versus clean clothes.  It is through a simple thing like laundry that we are able to join together and extend grace and love to our neighbors.

Laundry Love serves our neighbors in Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville every month.

For example, the Primm Family of Rogers tells of this particular relationship: 

"There was an older couple that came for a long time and we were able to get to know them pretty well. They had no water going to their house from the road and that the gentleman had been digging the trench himself. We were able to get a friend who was a builder with some of his workers to come out one Saturday.  We dug a trench, laid pipes and eventually they got running water."

And the Kelley's of Springdale made this connection: 

"When we first started Laundry Love, we met a grandmother who was taking care of 6 grandchildren.  They were coming to the laundry mat not only for clean clothes and food, but also to get water from the bathroom.  We learned that they did not having running water in their small apartment and were going to be evicted the very next day.  She was hopeless and afraid. All the volunteers put money together and bought her one week at a nearby hotel so she could have more time to figure out what to do."

It is these kind hearts that are willing to continue to wrap their arms around our families in need and support them in any way possible. It starts with one load and can result in an abundance.

Would you consider making a monthly commitment to help provide clean clothes through Laundry Love?

By donating... 

• $5 a month covers the cost of washing and drying one load of laundry.
• $10 a month covers the cost of washing and drying two loads of laundry.
• $25 a month covers the cost of washing and drying five loads of laundry.

The average family served at Laundry Love does three and five loads of laundry a month (which is crazy to think about doing only five loads of laundry a month).

What is Laundry Love?

Laundry Love Projects partner with community volunteers to provide clean clothes to those living in situations of poverty in Northwest Arkansas. It is our mission to take laundromats and convert them into hubs of relief, granting reprieve to those living in oppressive poverty. 

Laundry Love events provide people, without the resources to do so, a way to have clean laundry. The hope is to build relationships and share a meal while restoring the dignity that occurs when having clean clothes. We also hope to limit the hard choice between clean clothes and other necessities.
