The Gateway to the Amazon 

Iquitos, located in Northeastern Peru, is the country’s largest rain forest city.  With a population of 422,000, it is also the fifth largest city in Peru.  Iquitos is often considered the “Capital of the Peruvian Amazon” for its strategic location and culture.   

While it can only be reached by air or sea, it is a critical hub for travel into the remote villages that populate the Peruvian Amazon.  Its historic architecture, amazing food, and vibrant nightlife also make it a popular tourism destination.   

What We’re Doing 

Beyond its beauty and culture, Iquitos is a strategic entry point into the region.  On this expedition, we will host a series of medical and eye care clinics where residents can receive free exams, medications, and eyeglasses.  As we serve the people, it will provide new opportunities to share the Gospel with them. 

You will have the opportunity to meet new believers who are taking their first steps as followers of Christ.  We will partner with them to establish new churches across the region and invite people into a relationship with Jesus.   

God is doing incredible things in Iquitos.  The story has just begun and you can be a part of it.  Even if you aren't a medical professional, you can still serve the people in tangible ways.  In just one week, you can offer life-changing medical care, spread the Gospel, and establish new churches in an unreached part of the world.
