The Sustainable Food Center’s Farmer & Rancher Relief Fund provides direct relief to farmers and ranchers across Texas to help them recover from losses experienced during winter storm Uri. For over 45 years, SFC has supported local, small to mid-sized farms achieve their business and regenerative farming goals so they can thrive, while increasing access to healthy, local food throughout the supply chain at their two urban weekly farmers’ markets and wholesale procurement initiatives.
To help in this effort they have been providing:

- No cost direct to consumer sales outlets to support farmers in recouping freeze related losses while ensuring long term financial success and viability.
- Investments in relief projects for Black and Brown farmers to support the recovery from the long term effects of winter storm Uri, with an emphasis on infrastructure upgrades, sustainability improvements, and food access efforts in low income communities.
**50% of relief funding from Legacy Collective will go directly toward Black and Brown farmer relief
