In the fall of 2012, Help One Now, in conjunction with our local Haitian leaders, built Ferrier Village to help fight child trafficking.  Located in Ferrier, a small Haitian community near the Dominican border, the Village us currently home to 35 children being loved and cared for 24/7 by their 7 house mothers, a cook, and the 2 directors of Ferrier Village.  Furthermore, over a dozen children have been reunited with their families!

As part of our ongoing efforts to break the cycle of poverty, we are building a preschool at Ferrier Village.  This preschool will bring education to the children of Ferrier, which leads to more opportunity later in life.  Furthermore, the preschool gives parents a safe place to leave their children, allowing them more opportunity to find work and better provide for their families. 

Phase 6 — Build a Computer Lab -- $10,000

Having computer skills is such an advantage, no matter what part of the world that one is from.  Being able to educate the Ferrier children in computer skills broadens their career and life opportunities.  As the students continue to grow and further their education, the possibilities for their futures will grow.   Their lives will no longer be only about survival; their success will help keep their own families together and work to end the extreme poverty in their communities.
