Backpacks of Hope is the 2013 Legacy Project from Help One Now. This December, we will raise $100,000 to split among our six leaders in Haiti, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and Ethiopia by selling 1,000 “backpacks” for $100 each.
These will not be actual backpacks nor the physical things that backpacks often carry, such as notebooks or pencils. Rather, we are asking you to invest in what those things represent to students across the world: education, opportunity, HOPE.
For example, Pastor Gaétan (Haiti) hopes to furnish a library and start a computer lab for the students of Williamson Adrien Academy, so they can gain the knowledge and skills to compete in a rapidly changing world. Pastor Edward (Uganda) will be making various upgrades to his school and its programming in order to introduce these rural students to Uganda's rich culture and history, as well as its burgeoning future…all the while meeting other needs for his poorest students.
Whether you fund a “backpack” yourself, or want to gather your friends, family, and social media tribe to pitch in together, your support will change the lives of students in Uganda, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, and Haiti!
