Hi may name is Jayden and I am 9 years old. I heard that my church was sending a group of people to an orphanage in Jamaica.

So, I went home and looked up the West Haven Children’s home. I found some videos on YouTube that were a few years old and the images and stories made me cry. In the video the founder Gloria said that most of the kids that stay with her were thrown away in the trash and she saved them.   Check out the video here.
I knew I had to go. Mom told me that I come from a long line of missionaries on her side of the family and that she was not surprise that I wanted to go. She told me that the trip was $4000.00 for the two of us to go. I told her I would have a lemonade stand. She said, "that was nice, but we would have to ask for help". So, this is me asking for help. Yes, Jayden and I are eager to go to the West Haven Children’s Home in Jamaica In July 2020. West Haven Children's Home caters to the mentally and physically disabled and those less fortunate and was founded in 1986. They provide care, medical and therapeutic treatment, as well as training for the children and young adults in a loving and caring environment, so they can reach their full potential, physically, psychologically and socially.

WHCH is located on top of a mountain and is 30 miles from town below.

I know $4,000 is a ton of money for a mission’s trip but we want you to know that 25% of the cost of the trip will be a donation to the West haven Children’s home. Our team’s plans are to leave a sizable gift with them. We are also looking to take a 100 pair of flip-flops with us. One for each child. If by chance we raise over $4000.00 all monies will go directly to WHCH and trip expenses.

My heart is that this trip will be a life changing event for my child and all the child we will get to love on for just a little while. Will you join us in partnering with WHCH?

Trip Participants will work directly with children and young adults with special needs. Activities may include volunteering in our CDFI School and/or medical clinic, caring directly for children through feeding, playing, and special activities (art, music, sports), and may include construction or other projects at West Haven.

Our team will spend four days working at West Haven, and one day sightseeing or taking part in a special activity in beautiful Jamaica.
