I’m overjoyed (and still in shock) to say that I leave for Nepal on March 8th for another trip with Love Does! They doing amazing and redemptive work in Nepal - After the massive earthquake ravaged Kathmandu, Love Does opened a school for kids who had lost theirs in the aftermath, as well as an orphanage for young girls who suddenly found themselves without a family. A good portion of our trip will be spent getting to celebrate these incredible young girls, collaborating on a couple projects for their after-school program, and helping establish and open a brand new school for families that work and live in a local brick factory. We will also spend time engaging with the communities there, assessing their needs, and working with them to develop a plan for further engagement and community development in the city! What I love about this model of community development is that Love Does doesn’t tell the people what they need to move forward, but they partner with the people there to build leaders from within and cultivate dreams for their own vision of a restored, flourishing Nepal. But just like my trip to Uganda, I can’t do this without the love and support of my dear friends and family. I was deeply touched and humbled by the blanket of support that covered me last November, and while it’s scary to be vulnerable and reach out once again, I know God will continue to provide where he’s called me! I need to fundraise $3,500 for this trip, and honestly any amount would be tremendously helpful for me to reach my goal. But more important than financial support, I would love your prayer for one specific, simple, yet powerful thing to permeate and cover this trip from start to finish - that God’s big and beautiful love to be made deeply known.
