I am literally SO excited… I’m headed back to Ethiopia! WOOOT. I’ve been looking through pictures from past trips and my heartstrings have already started being tugged on.
Even though this is my fourth time going there, it’s not one of those trips that I feel like I have “been there, done that.” These trips aren’t like going to visit your grandparents… each trip is new and exciting and full of new people AND the chances to love on new people.
If you have met me, you probably know why I am headed to Ethiopia… again. But to remind you, again, there is a serious issue in Ethiopia with human trafficking, particularly in Amhara, the northern region of Ethiopia.
Most of the people in these areas live in extreme poverty. Many rural families in Amhara have been known to send their children - mostly teenagers - to neighboring countries and large cities to be “domestic servants.” These children are often trafficked as sex slaves and are never seen by their family again.
From April 9 - 20, 2019, I am re-partnering with a team from e3 Partners and embarking on a 10-day mission trip to Amhara, Ethiopia to visit with the people, to share the love of Christ, and to educate rural villagers about the sex trafficking industry. As these villagers are desperately poor, we will also be gifting Rhode Island Red Hens to each household. These hens have amazing egg-laying capabilities and bring sustainability to the families.
In order to make this mission possible, I will need support through prayer and finances. We are asking you to please consider how you can partner with us. I have a financial requirement of $3,295.00. Any donation we receive will go toward the flight, food, lodging and for all of the work that happens while we are there.
Even though you may not be able to donate financially, I would greatly appreciate your prayers! I would be deeply grateful for your commitment to praying for me and for my team. I anticipate that we will be able to send out updates through a blog, or other forms of social media.
Thank you for prayerfully considering supporting us, and thank you for being influences in my life.
