UPDATE: Today is March 27th and I have officially raised a total of $2,303! I'm so thankful for everyone who has backed me either through Purecharity or through checks sent through the mail. On that note, I just wanted to make my supporters aware that money sent through the mail is not added to my online Purecharity account. The money is taken account of and added to my overall amount, but there has not been a way to update the total amount of funds from all types of giving yet. I will be keeping track of my overall fundraising totals over the next few months and will be updating everyone on my progress. My next deadline is April 26th and I have $685 to raise till then. I'm trusting that the Lord will provide as He always has. Thanks for your prayers, love, and support in this process. May you be reminded of His faithfulness always.

It seems like just yesterday
that I left the comfort of my home and headed for my first year of college. I
can’t help but smile and be overjoyed with a grateful heart; I’ve been blessed
with so many beautiful friendships and unforgettable experiences whilst at my
time at Taylor. And each one of these semesters have been made possible by the
support of my loving friends and family. Time has flown by so quickly, as I am
in my junior year and working towards a
bachelor degree in Public Health at Taylor University. With this Public Health
degree, I desire to focus on the area of developing sustainable living through
growing vegetables and produce in greenhouses by a method called aquaponics and
hydroponics. In this current season, the Lord has opened up an amazing
opportunity to do a Public Health
internship with an organization
called Word Made Flesh in Galati, Romania.
Romania is a country of rich
history and a place of mediation between its surrounding countries. I will be
working in one of Romania’s largest cities in a community center that educates
families on how to improve nutrition and wellbeing. They do this by running
after school camps, summer camps, language classes, community meals,
aquaponics, and gardening training. My internships concentration will be in the
aquaponics greenhouse where we will aim to educate kids about nutrition and
gardening through educational and hands on learning.
The other day I was reading
through the passage Psalm 107:9, where it says, “For he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.” While reading this I was reminded of
how Jesus fulfills my every need whether in physical or spiritual health. I
decided to go on this trip because I believe that this process will help me
fully rely on God. I want nothing more than to edify the kingdom of God through
teaching His children how to glorify Him through being good stewards of the
earth and glorify God treating their bodies as temples. Although this journey
will consist of a whole lot of fundraising, prayer, and trust, I’m excited to
see how God will provide.
As
I mentioned earlier, I am so grateful for your support in my education and life
journey. It is because of your investment that I would like to ask you if you
would be willing to join me through prayer support and/or financial giving. I cannot express enough how important it will
be to have dedicated prayer partners as I serve overseas. Since I am a full time student, the financial
burden of this trip is great. I need to
raise $4,765 to cover the cost of this Public Health Intern program. This includes the cost of my international
airfare, housing, food, and administrative costs for my time in Romania. Please consider how God might enable you to
support me during this time.
Thank you for your
investment in my life and in the Kingdom of God. May God bless you as you serve God daily.
For His glory,
Mallory Tyree
