I'm very excited to be participating in a mission trip this year with
Hear the Cry, who partners with
Remember Nhu to preemptively rescue children from the sex trade.
Remember Nhu currently has 100
Prevention Homes for children in 16 countries which have helped over 2000 children avoid the devastation sex slavery. I will be traveling with Hear the Cry to Thailand to visit and serve at one of these homes.
The Why
Child sex slavery has sadly become a massive industry in which 1.2 million children are being sold globally each year.
In countries around the world today it has become culturally acceptable for families to sell their children when ends don’t meet. Once innocence is lost, it can never be restored, which is why prevention is so important.
These homes allow at-risk children to be moved to safety, ensure their protection from being sold into the sex trade, and provide for their physical, educational, emotional and spiritual needs through the love of Jesus Christ.
The WhatDuring our stay in Chiang Mai we will spend time with the girls helping them with homework, playing games, and taking them on various excursions such as elephant camp or swimming.
There are plenty of projects on the grounds and the home to help with, and we also hope to encourage the staff and bring some of the long term missionaries a breath of home.
While the girls are at school, we will take the opportunity to visit one of the hill tribes to gain an understanding of what the children are subject to in this kind of slavery and how poverty in this area presents itself into heartbreaking results.
