As One Missions Outreach to Haiti

Friends, thanks for checking out this page. For those of you who don't know, I am returning to Haiti on an International Mission's trip March 14-20, 2018. I am partnering with an organization called the Global Mission and their Haitian affiliate Chanje Movement and I can't wait to return to a country that has stolen my heart.

The Global Mission's journey to bring transformation to Haiti began shortly after the January 2010 earthquake. The teams continue to go support Haiti multiple times per year, including in October of 2016 when Hurricane Matthew struck the island. Our team was on the last flight in and was one of the first to provide immediate relief and support following the Hurricane as well as providing updates to CNN. The plan is to minister to the Haitians and teach them to make a difference in their country. Our goal is for the Haitians to be Heroes. Another focus for the trip is spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to a country that's real national religion is Vodoo.

Last year I went on the men's trip (see the video) and was deeply moved by the spirit of the people as well as the hope in their hearts. Most impactful for me was the the chance to spend hours with our translators. Our Haitian translators were educated, energetic and enthusiastic. They helped us understand not just the words of the people but the spirit and their hearts. These translators will be the future change agents in a country that needs great leaders. On our trip I will continue to build into them and encourage them to make a difference every day.
