India is a complex land of religious, linguistic, and political diversity. Hinduism is not only the most prominent religion, but it is the powerful force that shapes much of Indian culture. There is a presence of the Christian church, as the Apostle Thomas is reputed to have gone to this great nation to introduce the Gospel. However, despite its ancient roots, Christians are still a small minority among India's 1.3 billion people. Nowhere is that minority more evident than in the north of India where, for the most part, the spread of the church is at its weakest.
The State in India where our work will take place reflects the minority status of the
Christian Community evidenced throughout India and especially in the north.
Approximately 99% of the population adheres to a religious persuasion alien to the
Gospel. There are numbers of people groups which have never been exposed to the
message of God’s love and numbers of others that have had only a superficial taste
of our Lord’s work in their midst. You will meet as a matter of course people who
have no idea of the message we represent. The need is huge, but the power of God is
greater.
In the midst of all of this, we will be working with local pastors to bring the message of hope. We will travel to local communities in small teams to share The Message and provide a strong discipleship structure, which is overseen by our Indian pastors that will have an impact long after we leave.
Come join us for 11 days. Those days will be life changing for both you and the people who hear of salvation.
