Ireland is a country of extreme beauty and once had a well established Christian heritage. This heritage is diminishing quickly and we need to revitalize this nation for Christ. To be considered an unreached people group the percent of evangelical/born again believers has to fall under 2%. Missionaries on the ground in Ireland claim that the Republic of Ireland only has about .5% who would identify as born again believers.

Ever since I read Thomas Cahill's book, How the Irish Saved Civilization, I have had a love and gratitude for Ireland and the Irish people. As Americans, many of us can trace our lineage back to the nations of Western Europe, and as Christ-followers we have a spiritual lineage that goes back thousands of years. Part of that lineage comes from those faithful Irish Christ-followers who gave their all to Him and set sail on uncharted waters, trusting only in His providence, and founded monasteries in places such as Germany.
