Each week we hear from families all around the world who are looking for hope. Like any family, a missionary will eventually face marriage conflict, parental issues, the loss of loved ones, and work related struggles. However, missionaries are often isolated from the support systems that help other families thrive in difficult circumstances. Their desire to serve God and their supporting churches or missional organizations can make it difficult for them to be honest about the struggles they are facing, which often makes the problem much worse. It can feel like they are alone, or like the only option is to leave their work, and return home. It's estimated that near 60% of missionaries leave for preventable, or treatable reasons.
Where can they go for help?
When you sponsor a month of counseling, you are providing confidential counseling to missionaries, and their families, free of charge. Restored & Renewed Ministry is committed to serving those who have poured themselves out for others in the field. Our counselors are experienced in ministry, and know the unique challenges it brings into families. With special training and licenses in long-distance counseling, R & R counselors are able to provide private counseling to families all around the world, and with our private chateau, we can even provide a therapeutic environment for those who need more intensive help.
