Haiti is one of the poorest
countries in the Western Hemisphere; however, the ministry opportunities are
abundant. Go with Cross Church as we partner with a ministry center called Joy House
to minister to the people of Haiti.
According to Hope for Haiti, over 50% of Haiti’s population is school age and
the literacy rate is less than 50%. Approximately 70% of the people live in
poverty, with an average annual income of $400 per year. 15% of all children in
Haiti are orphaned or abandoned. Most estimates put the number of orphans in
Haiti prior to the January 2010 earthquake at about 380,000. Experts now
estimate that the number of orphans has doubled to about 750,000 since the
earthquake. Joy House has literally impacted thousands of lives and serves
two orphanages and four different area churches.
On this trip, we will be doing evangelism with individuals of all ages and the
trip could potentially include opportunities for construction work, sports
clinics, health clinics, and women’s ministry. Come join us as we bring the
Good News to the people of Haiti. For more information, please contact Karlad@crosschurch.com or Seths@crosschurch.com.
