Kursk is a city of 415,000, located roughly 300 miles south of Moscow. The city is home to the world’s largest iron-ore reserves and functions as a critical industrial center for Russia. It is believed that Kursk was originally settled in the 5th century, with Slavic influences reported by the 8th century.
The city is also the site of a key turning point in World War II. The largest tank battle in history took place between Russian and German forces as part of a Nazi advance called “Operation Citadel.” Fortunately, Russian forces managed to stop the Germans and turn the tide against their offense.
What We’re Doing
This expedition will target the city of Kursk and surrounding communities. The House of the Gospel Church was established in the area two years ago and now involves over 80 members. We will provide training for the congregation to help them better spread the Gospel in their community.
The expedition will also establish new churches in surrounding areas while working with Gypsies scattered across the region. In just one week, you can change lives, share the story of Jesus with dozens of people, and fuel a Gospel movement that outlives your time on this Earth.
