I have been involved with a campus ministry called Destino at UTRGV, we are an outreach organization that shares the love and gospel of Jesus Christ. This organization has given me a place to grow in His word and the opportunity to serve others in His name.
With this organization I have the opportunity to join a mission in Belmopan, Belize this summer. We will help start a sustainable project, help build a much needed home for a family in the area, and work with a church that serves 70 children daily in a small village in Belize City. Belize is a beautiful country with beautiful people. However, there are major systemic problems in Belize; drug and alcohol abuse, sexual deviancy, inadequate educational opportunities, financial hardship, and single parent homes. As a single mother, I feel particularly called to this mission because 85% of the homes in Belize are single parent homes, with a father absent in the family. In most cases, the boys quit school around the age of 14, so they can work to help provide for these households. They are quickly involved in alcohol abuse and fall into sexual impurity. It is a cycle that can be changed for the better. We will be working with some influential people that are already involved in bringing about lasting changes to the people in Belize. By standing side by side with locals, we can help provide sustainable jobs, bring spiritual revival, and break the cycle of broken homes.
To do that, I must have the help and support of others that have a heart for reaching the lost and making a lasting impact, not just a short term one. To travel to and from Belize, contribute to the work projects we will be doing, and engaging local young men and women to come along side and do the work with us, I need to raise $2,000 by May 31, 2017. Will you consider joining me in mission work by giving a donation? I am currently praying for 1 - $200 donation, 5 - $100 donations, 15 - $50 donations, and 20 - $25 donations.
Thank you so much for taking the time to consider supporting me through prayer and financial partnership to change lives in Belize. With God behind it, it will be the first of many investments into changing an entire culture.
In Christ,
