6 years ago I went on a trip to Cameroon for six weeks to serve and learn from the people there. One aspect of this trip was a disabilities camp. Anyone who knows me well, knows that this was an amazing life experience that I love to share about and was forever changed by. I have now been presented with the opportunity to return to my favorite continent - this time to the country of Uganda through Biola's graduate program partnering with Hope Speaks.
Hope Speaks is an amazing ministry to help children with disabilities in Kampala, Uganda. 1 in 7 children are living with a disability. Their main ministry is providing Speech Therapy to hundreds of these children. They teach them to swallow, chew, understand and express language, and so much more. Many of the volunteers are Speech Language Pathology grad students like myself, as well as Speech Therapy professionals. This will help them reach many more children with these services.
Every donation is important and will enable me to be present and help these children with disabilities. Would you consider making a donation? Also please help to spread the word by sharing this with others who may have a heart to donate.
Thank you so much for being a part of my life and helping me accomplish something that's important! I can't wait for this chance to serve in such a specific and empowering way!
