My wife, Katelyn, and I are excited to share that we are planning to go on a mission trip in the summer of 2020, to Ensenada, Mexico to build a house for a family in need with an organization called Olivia’s Basket. We are doing this to share the Gospel through our service in Mexico and support our dear friends, the Ray family. As a veteran of home build #10, it is clear to me that the Ray family has done lengthy research to maximize the impact Olivia’s Basket can have. Here are a few benefits of that impact:
1) A child in a permanent home is three times more likely to attend school.
2) Children in a permanent home are twice as likely to not experience persistent, chronic hunger.
3) Children are four times less likely to experience delayed development by growing up in a permanent home.
4) We would literally be creating a Christian home!!!
To help raise awareness for their cause, Katelyn and I are starting a fundraiser that would sponsor the two of us to join the Ray family for their 21st home build in Ensenada. Our fundraising goal is $2500, with all funds going directly to the resources required to build the home and for us to stay at the build site. We pray that we would exceed our goals, as any excess funds will go towards the $10,000 total cost of building the home.
