Overview
The trip will be 10 days (August 2-11th) where we are coming alongside Ethiopian Christians, sharing the gospel, and connecting Ethiopians with the truth found in God's word. Ultimately, the purpose of the trip is to build relationships and share Christ with Ethiopians who have never heard the name of Jesus while helping with the current church planting efforts ongoing in Ethiopia.
Why I'm going?
Ever since my trip to Seattle for 6 weeks in college, I have been awe struck at how the absence of the gospel impacts people and communities. Seeing firsthand the despair of not knowing the mercy, grace, and love available through Jesus and the complete rejection of it opened my eyes and heart to wanting to share the Gospel to the lost.
After college, I moved up to Dallas and got involved in a local church called Watermark Community Church. For the past two year and a half years, I have been serving with a young adult’s ministry called the Porch. Last year, I was invited to go to Ethiopia. The experience was more than I could have imagined. Being able to come alongside Christians 8,300 miles away bonded together by our love for Christ and our common goal of sharing the Gospel was truly awesome. Felt like I was given the slightest glimpse of the global church worshiping together in heaven (Rev. 7:9-17) on the trip as well. There’s not much I can point to that compares to the experience, what God did, and the people I met. It was absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to see how God will change me and do His work in the communities that we will be visiting again this year.
