WHO?I am Rakiyt "Raki" and Dave is my son. We've never been on a missions trip before, this is a very exciting adventure. We both agree that this trip will definitely grow our relationship with Christ and impact our view of the world and the unreached.
WHY?So I'm sure if you know me you're wondering why? Why Indonesia, Why Bali and what are you doing going on a missions trip Raki?? Well a little over a year ago God impressed upon me to go to Bali. I didn't really understand it, the only connection I had with Bali comes through working with a group of ladies who manufactured bracelets for me. So, for a year I sat on this, I had no idea what God wanted me to do in Bali...was I supposed to go live there, visit for a short time, start a business, share the Gospel etc. I was full of questions, which helped me delay making moves. This year I decided to step out on faith, I had asked God if I was supposed to take my son with me and he responded with "Take Him With You". Okay so this story is sounding a little fantastical even to myself, but aren't all life changing journeys a little fantastical? I still don't know what God has planned for us on this trip. I do know He is faithful and will not leave me hanging. I want to be obedient to His call. My son and I are excited to take what we've learned in our nightly Bible study and put it to use beyond our kitchen table.
MESSAGE FROM E3 PARTNERSYes, we need to plant churches in Bali. This is the only Hindu majority island in Indonesia. However, experience has shown that there is great resistance to the gospel due to tradition and cultural factors. I am recruiting a small team of folks willing to share Jesus to the Balinese after they receive free medical care in a number of villages. The accommodations and food for this campaign is definitely above average.
