Reagoboka Drop-in CentreAt the Reagoboka Drop-in Centre, Help One Now local leader Elizabeth Ndimande and her team serve two meals to over 170 children every school day. They operate an Early Childhood Development program for more than 40 local children, and over 130 primary school kids receive homework assistance and tutoring every afternoon at their after school program. They operate a community garden that helps local families with food, and also provide several needy families with food parcels every month.
What makes all of this even more amazing is that most of this work is done from the home of Elizabeth’s mother, Gogo!
Since Help One Now partnered with Take Action Ministries in South Africa to help support the Reagoboka Drop-in Centre, we have seen great changes already take place. Two classrooms have been built, along with three new EnviroLoo toilet facilities, to help the Centre keep up with the continually growing needs of the community. Now, we have almost completed the main building for the ECD which will finally give Elizabeth and the Reagoboka team the facilities they need to continue transforming lives!
FINAL PHASE
This final $15,000 will complete the inside of a new, large multi-purpose building. This includes kitchen fittings, plumbing, sinks, gas installation, a JoJo water tank and stand for rain water collection, tiling, shelving, cupboards, writing boards, curtains, desks, chairs, and a porch cover outside.
The building also includes a dedicated space for tutoring the primary school children, a large kitchen, office space, and even a laundry.
Elizabeth and Gogo have served over 170 children every day from Gogo’s house. Imagine the impact that they can make on the children and community with a larger space!
