I am very excited and extremely privileged to serve the Lord this summer on a medical mission’s trip to Honduras beginning June 28-July 6th. Honduras is an important country in Central America with a population of about 9.2 million. We will be serving in the city of Copan Ruinas; with a population of 10,000.  Copan Ruinas is located on the western side of the country bordering Guatemala and steeped with Mayan culture dating back to the pre-Colombian era.   Most of the people are still influenced by Mayan customs, traditions and native indigenous religions. There is a great spiritual need for the truth of the gospel and the way to salvation.

The focus of our 20+ member team will be providing both medical care and offer spiritual prayer and counseling to a people who are in great need.   Our free medical service is an extension of our love for the people. Often times ministering to the physical needs of the natural man opens and softens a heart to the gospel.  Jesus said, “We should give a cup of cold water in His name.” 

Our medical team will be serving in 5 different locations and treating people with basic medical needs. We will offer medications, pain relievers, anti-parasitic, skin creams, vitamins and inhalers. Following their treatment, each person has the opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus and respond to His calling.

I am grateful to God for the opportunity to use my health education background and help people understand good health practices.
