BIG NEWS!

For the longest time, I have always had the desire to serve others. More recently, my heart has been burning with this strong passion to serve our children. So when this amazing, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was presented to me, I did not hesitate to jump on board. I am so excited to finally announce that I will be leaving to Thailand on December 27, 2017 on my very first mission trip along with fellow young adults from Westside: A Jesus Church of Portland, Oregon. Our small group has teamed up with Remember Nhu, a non-profit organization on a global mission to end child sex slavery through prevention: one child at a time, one family at a time, one village at a time.

While there...

Our team will be in the city of Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. We will be spending time with the children at our rescue homes helping with schoolwork and participating in endless fun-filled days of exciting trips and activities. There are also plenty of projects on the grounds and the home to help with, along with encouraging the staff and bringing some of the long-term missionaries a breath of home. While the children are at school, we will have the opportunity to visit one of the hill tribes to gain an understanding of what the children are subject to in this kind of slavery and how poverty in this area presents itself into heartbreaking results. The culture and religious influence in the country cannot be overlooked. This trip will bring insight and depth to how lives are structured here.

But first...

I will have to raise a minimum of $3,000 to cover for airfare, food, lodging, insurance, ground transportation, supplies and excursions. I know this is a huge amount of money, but I want to invite you to consider the number of lives that will be impacted through this mission. Every prayer, support, and donation will not go unnoticed, and I cannot thank you enough.
