A message from Rita:

Howdy! 

This summer, I have the opportunity to go the Philippines in the name and guidance of our Lord Jesus to spread the gospel!

Specifically, my team will show local young adults a way to effectively create disciples, or lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.

Two years ago, the day after I graduated high school, I took my very first steps outside the state of Texas—in the Philippines! The highlight of that trip for me was neat the end-- I evangelized on a college campus and got a preview of what my actual college life could look like. Upon getting to college (Texas A&M University, WHOOP), I quickly became involved in my local church and have attended the same one these past 2 years, eagerly seeking to know Jesus and obey all that he asks of me.

I am very excited to go back to the Philippines! Though my first trip there focused on children for half of the trip, I know that the experience I have with the culture will let me hit the ground running in speaking to others and in learning more.

About the trip:
The CBC Trip to the Philippines is going to be a powerful and intense trip.  The itinerary and travel schedule does not allow for much recreation time.  From the moment we hit the ground in Iloilo until we return to McAllen on June 5, we are going to very occupied.  We will have a team leaving on May 21 and traveling almost 48 hours to finally end in Iloilo late evening on May 24.  We will be traveling to three circuits to work with children, students, and youth leaders in multiple rural regions.  

By May 31 we will start our 3 days of training Pastors and Leaders from over 100 institutions around Iloilo, before returning on June 2 to Manila.  June 3-4 we will visit our Food for the Hungry partner in Norzagaray, Bulacan.  We return to Manila with enough time to fly home at 10pm on June 4 arriving in McAllen on June 5.
