Situated about 25 km from Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa, Waterloo Hospital-Adventist Health opened in 2002 after the civil war, during which the rebels had destroyed the country's premier Seventh-day Adventist Masanga Leprosy Hospital up country in the Tonkolili District. The Waterloo District comprises a catchment population of 250,000 people.
This Summer, I plan to work together with hospital partners in planning and strategist Waterloo's Pharmacy logistics. My team and I are hoping to use our pharmacy expertise to improve how patients are being treated. This is the first time this clinic will be receiving any pharmacy volunteers. We seek to start a foundation where future pharmacy students and pharmacists can contribute to.
I'm excited to have this opportunity to make use of the knowledge and abilities God has gifted me by serving God through serving those in need. Any prayers and/or support would be greatly appreciated!
