A little over 4 years ago I spent the summer living in Zimbabwe and getting to know the amazing community who lives there. I got a front row seat in watching the amazing things that God is doing in and through the orphans at Hands of Hope and the local church that has brought them in as their family. For those of you who don't know, Zimbabwe has the most orphans per capita in the world with 1.8 million of the 14 million population orphaned. This is a heartbreaking number.
This year I am finally able to go back and see my family and friends, and I cannot describe how excited I am for this. This year my team and I will be ministering through taking the kids on retreats, providing skills training camps, and hosting VBS, followed by another week of spending time with some of the older children in HOH homes and who have aged out of the orphan homes, many of which are kids I became very close to when I was there 4.5 years ago. Nearly 100% of the work and time on the trip is compassionate care work with orphans.
