My name is Tasfanesh and I am 29 years old. I am a single mother to 2 daughters. Before joining the ladies income generation group I was selling half bananas I found in the waste dump. A large company would discard these bananas because part of the banana was bad. I would pick these bananas from the dump, cut off the bad half of the banana and sell the other half. I would wait on the side of the road in the hot sun for hours with very few buyers. As a single mother I suffered in many ways. I was struggling to pay rent and feed my children each month on the little money I made selling bananas.Since joining the women's income generation group I am proud, I have learned new skills and I can pay rent and buy food for my family. My life has changed, it is so much better and I am so thankful.
