On December 5th the world lost a beautiful soul in Erin Hackman. Erin loved others in the truest sense of the word. She loved quietly and fully. As the devoted wife to Jeff and mother to 5 awesome kids, she knew exactly what it meant to love.
We were honored to spend time with Erin in Uganda and watch her love on those there as well. She loved on each of on her team in her quiet demeanor, light filled smile, and fully present conversation. She loved on those being cared for my Sole Hope in the same way. It didn't matter who you were, Erin was all there with you. What a gift she was to the world.
Erin's family has asked for donations be made to Sole Hope in her honor. We, her teammates, are hoping to raise enough to cover the cost of a weekly clinic in her honor.
Every Thursday, Sole Hope hosts a community clinic in places where jiggers have been found prevalent. Each clinic serves approximately 150 patients. Over the course of 50 weeks out of the year, that is roughly 7,500 patients treated.
Not only do patients receive medical care for their jiggers, but they also receive Sole Hope shoes that help protect their feet and reinforce the education they receive. Short-term execution providing long-term results!
Would you consider partnering with us to cover the expense of these weekly clinics in our journey to see a jigger-free Uganda?
Your one-time gift of $1500 or your monthly gift of $125 covers the cost of one weekly clinic each year. Your generosity impacts the lives of hundreds of people in Uganda from the Sole Hope staff to the families of each patient treated at a community clinic.
Thank you for choosing HOPE and taking action through your giving!
