For the summer of 2020, I will be spending two months in Uganda interning with Sole Hope, a non-profit organization based out of Jinja, Uganda. This internship is unique in that I will get to serve and help an amazing organization, while also gaining experience in my major (hospitality management).

After visiting Uganda in 2018 and 2019, it became a dream of mine to do an internship with Sole Hope. I have felt called to be an intern with this organization because of the unique work they are doing in Jinja.

Sole Hope offers “hope, healthier lives, and freedom from foot-related diseases through education, jobs, and medical relief” (solehope.org).
Many children in Uganda suffer from a parasite called jiggers, a tiny flea that burrows into the sole of the foot. This hinders the person’s ability to run, play, go to school, and just be a normal kid or member of society. Sole Hope helps children and adults to become jigger-free and to be accepted back into their societies with new shoes and education on how to prevent jiggers in the future.

I have to raise a bit of money to make this dream a reality and would appreciate your help SO much. Even the smallest donations make a difference and are much appreciated. $10, $20, whatever you can afford will mean a lot to me.

Above all else, I would appreciate your prayers during this time of fundraising and preparing for this journey out of my comfort zone.
The Lord is faithful and I am so excited with what He is already doing in Uganda through Sole Hope, and to be a witness to these miracles next summer.
I have been called and I am just answering Him!
