Welcome to my trip page!

         If you've gotten this far, then I suspect you are interested in how you can partner with Jude, Naomi, and I as we follow the Lord's call to visit Africa and to serve and love the people of Kenya. The trip is being led by Brenda Kean & her daughter Brayden Kean, who are missionaries to Kenya.  We have gotten to know the Kean's over the past few years through our homeschool co-op and I can say without a doubt that this family loves the people of Nairobi with the love of Jesus.

        The team will work together with members of the local Jacaranda Community to minister specifically in various informal settlements (slums) within Nairobi. We will be visiting homes, caring for people, bringing encouragement and the word of God along with tangible gifts of food, mattresses, shoes and clothing. We will be interacting with people within the Jacaranda Kids Child Sponsorship program as well as the many women who are part of the Jacaranda Women's empowerment program, Jacaranda Creations. Some time will be spent at Jacaranda Academic Center playing with the children and sharing object lessons, art, etc.  as well one Sunday at Jacaranda Christian Fellowship.

        The first thing we would love is your prayers. We want to follow the Spirit's leading in every area and we want protection from the enemy's plan to thwart our efforts to bring hope to every person we plan to encounter. So please pray for our trip. Secondly, we have pared down the trip cost to the amount that we feel can best accomplish the mission while still blessing the local workers on the ground. We are able to get our flights at a very reasonable rate (thank you Jesus!) so the additional costs are for in-country travel, lodging, food, etc. and money to meet the needs of the people we are there to serve. Thank you for giving. Any amount is so helpful since we are taking 3 people from our family. Over the years, our family been able to give to many mission trips. There are some months that all we can afford to give is $5-$10, but that investment ties our heart to the work being done. So, no amount is too small!
